As has been previously announced, Hachette Publishing is phasing out the Warner Aspect sf imprint. Current Aspect authors will be switched over to either the general Warner (now called Grand Central Publishing) line or their new sf imprint, Orbit.
Orbit is scheduled to debut in the US in Autumn 2007, as an attempt to combine US and UK operations under the same name. They’ve recently bought world English rights to a new Kevin J. Anderson trilogy, which publishing director Tim Holman says “will be a flagship series for Orbit in the US and the UK.” (For more on the sale, see this article.)
Once they get going, Orbit expects to publish 40 titles a year. During the launch season (September 2007 to March 2008), they’ll publish 23 titles.
