In a ceremony in San Jose, California, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America presented their 49th annual Nebula Awards this weekend. The winners are:
Novel: Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie (Orbit US; Orbit UK)
Novella: “The Weight of the Sunrise” by Vylar Kaftan (Asimov’s Science Fiction, February 2013)
Novelette: “The Waiting Stars” by Aliette de Bodard (The Other Half of the Sky)
Short Story: “If You Were a Dinosaur, My Love” by Rachel Swirsky (Apex Magazine, March 2013)
Ray Bradbury Award for Outstanding Dramatic Presentation: Gravity, (Alfonso Cuarón, director; Alfonso Cuarón & Jonás Cuarón, writers) (Warner Bros.)
Andre Norton Award for Young Adult Science Fiction and Fantasy: Sister Mine, Nalo Hopkinson (Grand Central)
As previously announced, Samuel R. Delany was named this year’s Grand Master, while Frank M. Robinson was named a Special Honoree, and Michael Armstrong was given the Kevin O’Donnell Jr. Service to SFWA Award.
