Author Nick Pollotta died on 13 April 2013 of cancer. Born in New Jersey on 26 August 1954, he had earlier been a stand-up comic in New York. He published more than 50 novels under a variety of pseudonyms and house names, in genres ranging from science fiction, fantasy, horror, and humor, to westerns, military/thrillers, gaming, and paranormal romance.
Some of his better known books include [[[Illegal Aliens]]] (1989, co-written with Phil Foglio), [[[That Darn Squid God]]] (2004, co-written with James Clay), [[[Damned Nation]]] (2010), [[[Belle, Book and Candle]]] (2012), [[[Savage]]] (2013, co-written with Bill Dunbar), and his short fiction collection [[[Tequila Mockingbird]]] (2004).
His (apparently) last novel, the Mack Bolan novel [[[Chained Lightning]]] (under the pseudonym Don Pendelton) is scheduled to be published next year by Gold Eagle Books.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Hutchings.
