A press release from Jessie Edwards of HarperCollins:
I’m so happy to share with you some big news from inside The Hollows! TV Guide reports that Kim Harrison‘s New York Times bestselling series, The Hollows, will be adapted into a TV show for The CW. That’s a tall order for a production company to bring 11 of the most beloved urban fantasy novels to life on the small screen. Fortunately, Harrison created a visually stunning, comprehensive world guide, The Hollows Insider, which went on sale from Harper Voyager yesterday. The guide, which features the extensive case files of Devin Crossman, a blogger who sometimes reports for The Hollows Gazette. Devin has developed an unhealthy obsession with witch/demon Rachel Morgan and has set out to examine every aspect of her life, thus illuminating for fans every aspect of the world of The Hollows.
The TV Guide report says, in part:
CSI showrunner Carol Mendelsohn has sold six new projects. Mendelsohn, along with production company President Julie Weitz, is developing three cop dramas with CBS, a cop series with FX and two book adaptations with The CW.
The Hollows (CW), based on the Kim Harrison book series, follows Rachel Morgan, a private investigator/witch who works with local law enforcement. Jordan Hawley (Smallville) is the executive producer and writer.
Thanks for the share
The CW? The teenager channel? This is NOT a teen friendly series! There’s sex. There’s violence. There’s cursing. Rachel Morgan risks her neck every single book and about dies in every single book. The CW producers are going to ruin this series. I am NOT looking forward to this show, and I’m a HUGE Rachel fan! Tsk Tsk Kim. I thought you knew better than that.
