Publishers Weekly is reporting that F.J. Lennon sold three books to Editorial Director Emily Bestler at Simon & Schuster‘s Atria Books via agent Peter Steinberg. The books will be based on Lennon’s iPhone video game app, Soul Trapper. The publishing deal is for world English rights.
PW says the game has sold about 25,000 copies. Soul Trapper is one of Real Time Audio Adventures iPhone games. It’s “a 3+ hour interactive audio adventure that follows the turbulent life of Kane Pryce, a 27-year-old drifter who possesses a mysterious device known as the Soul Trap, a supernaturally charged object that allows him to hunt down, capture, and send ghosts from the earthly realm to the afterlife.” Players follow along Kane as “he navigates a chilling maze of gangsters, ghosts, dames, and demons.”
Lennon is a writer and independent interactive executive producer and designer based in Los Angeles, CA. In addition to Soul Trapper, he is responsible for Cool School, a web-based game/educational tool. He is the author of the 2001 business book Every Mistake in the Book: A Business How-Not-To.
