The Washington Science Fiction Association (WSFA) is reviving its WSFA Press, which published one book per year honoring the Guest of Honor at its Disclave convention (from 1989 to 1992). Now, with Capclave 2009, they’re bringing back their publications arm. The first book, available at this year’s convention, will be Reincarnations by Harry Turtledove. Keeping the convention’s focus on short fiction, the book is a collection “containing six stories never-before-reprinted, an original story, story notes, and an introduction by Editor Sheila Williams of Asimov’s Science Fiction.”
Reincarnations will be available in a 250-copy signed and numbered edition (for $28.00), and a 750-copy limited edition (for $20.00). The book “marks WSFA’s first new project in four years, and the first in a new ongoing publishing program to commemorate Capclave’s author guests of honor.” After the convention, the book will be available from selected dealers and through the the new WSFA Press web site (through which they’re now taking pre-orders).
Capclave, WSFA’s annual convention, will be 16-18 October at the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville, Executive Meeting Center. Turtledove is the author guest of honor, and Williams is the editor guest of honor.
