Prologue of The Gathering Storm (Wheel of Time book 12, part 1) now available

As with previous volumes in the Wheel of Time series, Macmillan is making the prologue of the newest volume available for purchase now, more than a month before the official 27 October publication date of The Gathering Storm by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson. “What the Storm Means”, is available as both an ebook and an audio download, either for $2.99, and available from a variety of stories, compatibly “with nearly all e-reading devices”. The list of retailers and links to them is available on this page.
In the prologue, “Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, struggles to unite a fractured network of kingdoms and alliances in preparation for the Last Battle. As he attempts to halt the Seanchan encroachment northward—wishing he could form at least a temporary truce with the invaders—his allies watch in terror the shadow that seems to be growing within the heart of the Dragon Reborn himself.”
And if that isn’t enough, the first chapter of The Gathering Storm is available now on Tor.com for registered users.
