61st Annual Emmy Award Winners—the sf/f/h nominees

Last night, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences handed out its 61st Primetime Emmy Awards (the Creative Arts Emmys were given out in a far-less publicized ceremony last week). Once again, sf/f/h programming received token notice: of the 59 nominations these programs received, they won 16, nearly all of them in the Creative Arts categories. A stand-out, however, was the short-lived Pushing Daisies, which won four of the five Emmys for which it was nominated (last year it won three of 12). The genre winners this year include:

* Sound Editing (Series) for “Daybreak, Part 2”
Chuck:
* Stunt Coordination for “Chuck Versus the First Date”
Destination Imagination (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends):
* Outstanding Animated Program (more than one hour)
Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog:
* Outstanding Special Class—Short-format Live-Action Entertainment Programs
Heroes:
* Special Visual Effects (Series) for “The Second Coming/The Butterfly Effect”
Legend of the Seeker:
* Music Composition (Series) Joe LoDuca for “Prophecy”
Lost:
* Supporting Actor (Drama Series) for Michael Emerson as Ben Linus
Pushing Daisies:
* Supporting Actress (Comedy Series) for Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook
* Art Direction (Single-Camera Series) for “Dim Sum Lose Some”
* Costumes for a Series, for “Bzzzzzzzzz!”
* Makeup (Non-Prosthetic, Single-Camera Series) for “Dim Sum Lose Some”
The Simpsons:
* Voice-Over Performance for Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson in “Father Knows Worst”
South Park:
* Outstanding Animated Program (less than one hour) for “Margaritaville”
True Blood:
*Casting for a Drama Series
24:
* Supporting Actress (Drama Series) for Cherry Jones as President Allison Taylor
Wizards of Waverly Place:
* Children’s Program
