British screenwriter Chris Bryant dies

British screenwriter Chris Bryant died 27 October 2008. Born in Bolton, Lancashire, England, in 1936, he wrote miniseries and feature films, but also worked as a lawyer, a politician, a comedian, a television host, an actor, and a teacher.
His genre credits include: The Awakening (1980), The Spiral Staircase (1975), and Don’t Look Now (1973). At the time of his death, he was also associated with Don’t Look Now, which appears to be a remake of the 1973 film, and which is currently scheduled for release in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Penelope, two sons, one daughter, and one brother. His family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Society.
