Juno Books has several publishing announcements. First, they’ve dropped two anthologies from their forthcoming publishing schedule. Editor and publisher Paula Guran writes “Warrior Women just didn’t seem to ignite any excitement with the stores and Best New Romantic Fantasy 3… well… we could have gone ahead and done it as a hardcover or trade paperback, but since that didn’t really fit in with our direction as a mass market line with a tighter focus, it was thought better to drop it.”
They’ve updated their writers’ guidelines, but they’re “not shutting the door on anything and, not being a New York Publisher, we are not as constrained by having to base every decision on ‘the numbers’. But, overall, we are going towards books we feel will appeal in mass market format.”
They’ve also updated the web site, including new pages for our their new titles: Apricot Brandy by Lynn Cesar, House of Whispers by Margaret Lucke, Clockwork Heart by Dru Pagliassotti, and Blackness Tower by Lillian Stewart Carl. The updated pages include interviews with three of the authors.
Juno has also “added three new ebooks since December: Dancing with Werewolves by Carole Nelson Douglas, Blood Magic by Matthew Cook, and Chasing Silver by Jamie Craig. All ebooks can now be found on our new eBooks page.
