Variety reports the top movies of the week in terms of box office take. For the week of 1-7 February 2008: The Eye opened in the number 2 spot, taking in $14.9 million. Untraceable dropped from #5 to #8, bringing in $6.8 million for a two-week total of $20.8 million. Cloverfield was down from #4 to #10, taking in $6.2 million, for a three-week total of $73.3 million.
I Am Legend dropped from #16 to #21, grossing $1.3 million for an eight-week total of $253.6 million. Sweeney Todd was down from #19 to #24, with a box office of $750 thousand for a seven-week total of $51.7 million.
The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep dropped out of the top 25, from #23 to #32, in its sixth week in release.
