Jaci Updike, the newly promoted Senior Vice President of Random House’s Adult Sales Group, has realigned the unit. As part of the restructuring, Marty McGrath, who had been the deputy director of the group, is leaving the company, and his job is being eliminated. Director of Proprietary Sales Bill Huelster is also leaving.
Meanwhile, Al Greco has been promoted to the newly created position of Vice President, Director Adult Retail Sales: he will oversee sales to Barnes & Noble, Borders, and Books-A-Million, as well as the foreign language sales division. Tom Cox has been promoted to Vice President, Mass Merchandiser and Distributor Sales, in which position he’ll oversee sales to warehouse clubs, mass merchants, and wholesalers.
The position of Vice President, Director, Sales Marketing has been created, and handed to Paul Kozlowski, who will work with all Random House adult group publishers and adult sales directors to develop “entrepreneurial sales title strategies appropriate for each imprint and customer and communicating their implementation.” Glenn Ellis moves into Kozlowski’s old position as Vice President, Director of Adult Field Sales. Finally, Christian Waters is the new Vice President, Director Sales Planning.
