Top Box Office Grossers: First Week in November

Variety reports the top 25 movies for the week of 2-8 November in terms of box office take. Last week’s #1 dropped to #3 in its second week as Saw IV took in $13 million for a two-week total of $53.1 million. 30 Days of Night dropped from #3 to #5, grossing $5 million for a three-week total of $35.3 million. New release Martian Child, listed as a straight drama and based on David Gerrold’s award-winning story, openend at #7, taking in $4.3 million.
Tim Burton’s Nightmare Before Christmas in 3-D dropped from #9 to #11 in its third week in release, grossing $1.9 million this week for a total of $13.2 million.
Last week it was #25, and had been in the top 25 for seventeen weeks. This week, Transformers finally dropped below that threshhold.
