Director Bob Clark killed in car crash

Director Bob Clark died in a car crash on 4 April 2007. Born Benjamin Clark in New Orleans, Louisiana, on 5 August 1941, he was best known for directing Porky’s and A Christmas Story, which included Santa Claus’s now-famous line “You’ll shoot your eye out, kid.”
His genre films include Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things (1972), Dead of Night (1974), Black Christmas (1974), and Baby Geniuses (1999), as well as the 1985 Amazing Stories episode “Remote Control Man.” He also produced and received writing credits for most of them, and appeared on screen in Dead of Night and Black Christmas.
Clark and his 22-year-old son Ariel Hanrath-Clark died when they were hit head-on by a drunk driver in Pacific Palisades, California.
