A press release from Alex Davis:
This November saw the release of No Monsters Allowed, a new horror anthology from Dog Horn Publishing featuring 20 tales of ‘human horror’, edited by Alex Davis, and to celebrate a book launch will be taking place at Nottingham’s Central Library on the 28th November.
As the title suggests, No Monsters Allowed avoids the classic elements of many horror tales – vampires, werewolves, zombies and ghosts – to focus on stories of psychological terror and the evil that humankind can do to its own kind. This brings together a mixture of serial killers, twisted family relationships and survival after the apocalypse – a true insight into the darker side of human behaviour, with splashes of grim humour to boot.
The Nottingham event will take place at Angel Row’s Central Library, and run from 7pm-8:30pm. Editor Alex Davis will be joined by author Adam Craig, whose story ‘The Silence After Winter’ is one of the lead tales in the collection. The night will featuring readings, discussion, a Q+A session and more, plus entry to the event is free.
Alex Davis said: ‘The response to No Monsters Allowed so far has been fantastic, so I’m delighted to be coming to Nottingham to launch the title. There’ll be plenty going on at the event, and of course it’ll be your chance to hear from those at the heart of the project and get your copies signed on the night.’
