Elves preach safety as Air New Zealand offers trips to The Hobbit premiere

Air New Zealand has created a new safety video to be shown on their 777-300s, based on the upcoming film release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The four-minute video includes all the safety warnings and instructions air travelers are used to, but stars a wide cast of characters straight out of Toklien’s books (well, Peter Jackson’s filmic imaginings thereof).

And, to make sure you watch it (even if you haven’t yet boarded your flight), they’re offering a contest, with some amazing prizes. The six “Ultimate Middle-earth experiences for 2” — valued at NZ$40,000 each — include airfare to New Zealand from anywhere in the world, flights within New Zealand, tickets to the world premier screening of the movie on 28 November in New Zealand, six nights hotel accommodation, tours of the set and the country, and more.

To enter, go to this site, watch the safety video, and answer a simple question.

Deadline to enter is 11 November.
