Vera Nazarian kickstarting alternate 17th century dark fantasy novel

A letter from Vera Nazarian:

Dear Friends,

I know how crazy-busy you all are, and apologies up-front, but I desperately need your help with my Cobweb Bride Kickstarter.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2027984632/cobweb-bride

As you probably know, in the last 6 years I’ve been through what I call a “Series of Unfortunate Events.” Most recently, after losing my home to foreclosure last year, the cross-country move from California to Vermont, and the bankruptcy in January, I’ve just had major surgery two months ago (major hysterectomy) that saved my life and took out a bunch of organs plus cancer. I went into the ER and the hospital in July, when uninsured. In August there were complications with the sutures, but I am now recovering.

And now, I am trying to finish writing a book that will help re-start my career and pretty much my life.

Cobweb Bride (Book One of Death’s Cobwebs) is an alternate 17-th century dark fantasy about death, politics, and love. It stands at about 60,000 words (halfway point) where I had to abandon writing it about 6 years ago when all the evil crap started happening in real life.

My critique partner, a pro writer (one of a handful who have read the existing draft) calls the novel Cobweb Bride “Beautiful, romantic, lyrical, and Bloody!”

I am hoping the raise the $5,000 funds to keep me going for the next several months, writing and producing and publishing the finished book, dealing with bills, with ancient computer equipment (some of it hailing from the 20th century) that is all falling apart. (I am barely typing this email on a clunky external keyboard attached to an ancient laptop…)

And for everyone’s kind support in the Kickstarter, I am offering all kinds of rare and unique swag, including signed first edition hardcovers, buttons, pencils, cards, and even original art.

Here is where your help would be tremendous:

If you have a few minutes, I would truly appreciate a mention on your blog, Livejournal, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or anywhere else you think is appropriate.

Many thanks, friends, and yes, I know you are swamped with work, life, etc, so believe me, I understand if you cannot find the time to do it.

However, if you can, you have my deepest gratitude. Any mention will help!

Love,

Vera
