Douglas Adams The Party

This Sunday would have been Douglas Adams’ 60th Birthday. To celebrate this event, his family and friends, in association with “Save The Rhino” (one of his favorite charities) are holding a very special birthday celebration in his honor at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. An evening’s entertainment from some of the finest names in the world of science, comedy, entertainment and music, with a very special premiere performance of Adams’ material, this is one event that is definitely not to be missed. Tickets are £30 each, and going fast. Doors open at 4PM; the show starts at 5PM.
Appearing in the show will be scientists Simon Singh, Robin Ince, Jon Culshaw and Helen Keen; comedians Clive Anderson in conversation with Terry Jones, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Stephen Mangan; Adams’ co-author of The Meaning of Liff John Lloyd; performers from Adams’ mid-1970s’ stage productions, including Rory McGrath, Angus Deayton, Michael Fenton Stevens, Philip Pope, Helen Atkinson Wood, Sue Sheridan, Stephen Mangan, and Geoff McGivern; and members of Adams’ dream band (who last performed at his Memorial service) including Gary Brooker, Dave Gilmour, Robbie McIntosh, Jodi Linscott, Paul “Wix” Wickens, Margo Buchanan, Dave Bronze and Paul Beavis.
All the proceeds from Douglas Adams The Party are going direct to two of Douglas’ favorite charities, Save the Rhino and the Environmental Investigation Agency.
