The silence has been lifted—I’m super thrilled/jazzed/chuffed to announce that Orbit Books will be publishing my book, The Shambling Guide to New York City (plus one more book TBA)!
If you’re a long-time follower of mine, you may recognize that this book was written under code-name Underground, and a great many of you crammed into a hot, tiny room at Balticon to hear me read from it a while back. I’m so pleased it’s found a home!
My elevator pitch: A woman gets a job in a publishing company that makes travel books for monsters: where visiting zombies might find a meal in the city, or where vampires can find a place to sleep the day away. During her on-the-job research, she learns about the necessary balance between monsters and humans and the people who actively work to disrupt it.
I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be working with the company that brought us amazing books from Gail Carriger, NK Jemisin, and Mira Grant, to name a few!
There are some details I will be able to talk about in the coming months, but thanks to all my readers who believed in this book, especially my husband, Jim.
