Assistant Editor Mike Braff, at Del Rey Spectra, has acquired his first series for the company: a science fiction trilogy by debut author Jason M. Hough. Braff writes “The first book, The Darwin Elevator, absolutely blew me away, and I had a wonderful conversation with Jason prior to purchasing the series. However, apart from some general ideas, Jason hadn’t yet developed concrete plans for the second or third books in the series. Some might have balked at the notion that the series was undecided, but I really think that is the best case scenario: it means that the editor will have an active role in determining how the series turns out! At the end of the day, it is still Jason’s series, but it was time for my input and suggestions.”
