Horror film icon Bill Hinzman died 5 February 2012 after a battle with cancer. Born Samuel William Hinzman in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, on 24 October 1936, he was working as a camerman on George Romero’s 1968 Night of the Living Dead when he was cast as a zombie in the film’s opening scene. That was the beginning of his career in front of the camera.
