Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows slipped from #3 to #5, deducing $12.2 million, for a five-week total of $173.8 million. The Devil Inside fell from #1 to #6, exorcising $10.3 million, for a two-week total of $48.6 million. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo slipped from #4 to #7, seeking out $9.8 million, for a four-week total of $91.0 million. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked slipped from #6 to #9, singing up $8.6 million, for a five-week total of $121.6 million.
The Adventures of Tintin fell from #8 to #12, adventuring up $6.4 million, for a four-week total of $70.1 million. Hugo slipped from #13 to #16, clocking in $1.8 million, for an eight-week total of $54.9 million. The Darkest Hour fell from #11 to #17, battling up $1.4 million, for a four-week total of $20.9 million. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn fell from #14 to #19, devouring $1.1 million, for a nine-week total of $280.0 million. The Muppets fell from #16 to #21, earning $950 thousand, for an eight-week total of $86.8 million. Happy Feet 2 held steady at #24, dancing up $750 thousand (250% more than last week), for a nine-week total of $62.2 million.
