A press release from Kent Pollard of SFContario 2:
I’m approaching you in my role as head of this Year’s Charity Auction. We are asking for your assistance in locating items for this year’s auction, whether it is a donation of your own, passing on word to others who might be willing to provide material for the auction, or planning to set aside a little time and money to bid on items from the auction.
SFContario is dedicating our primary fundraising efforts this year to Regent Park Youth Focus Media Arts Centre (assisting at-risk youths by engaging them through media). As this year’s Canvention, we are also hosting the 2011 Canadian Unity Fan Fund delegate, and will be accepting auction items to assist with funding the CUFF delegate’s trip from Western Canada to the SFContario Canvention. We hope you will choose to participate in supporting our causes, both by planning to bid on some of the items, and by assisting us with locating a variety of items for the auction.
What Can You Donate?
Practically anything. Some items that have proven popular in the past are Art, Books, Posters, Spa goodies, Gift Certificates, T-Shirts, Hats, Scarves, Gift Baskets, Jewellery, Business Services, Tuckerized stories and songs, Collectible Program Books, CD’s, and DVD’s. Items of a Whimsical, Fanciful and Capricious Nature are encouraged!
Notes:
If your are able to assist, we hope you can let us know the nature of your donation ahead of time, so that we can make the best arrangements for maximising interest in the items
If you could provide, by email, photos of your item, that would be of particular assistance in placing items on the web.
All items will be presumed to be for the primary charity unless you specifically designate CUFF or a split for your item.
If you have a physical item that you’d like to deliver before the convention, please contact Debra Yeung at debra [dot] yeung [at] gmail [dot] com to arrange delivery to a Toronto address.
For questions, or to volunteer, please email me at kent [dot] pollard [at] gmail [dot] com. If you could please put SFCCA in the subject, I’d appreciate it greatly.

Thanks for your time and consideration,
Kent Pollard
