YA Author William Sleator Dies

Author William Sleator died 3 August 2011 in Thailand. Born William Warner Sleator III on 13 February 1945 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, he graduated from Harvard in 1967, and studied music in London toward the end of that decade.
His first published book was The Angry Moon (1970), which was a Caldecott Honor Book. He went on to write more than 30 YA novels, most of them speculative fiction, including Interstellar Pig (1984), The Green Futures of Tycho (1981), House of Stairs (1974), Strange Attractors (1989), and The Spirit House (1991). He also wrote picture books, composed music, and sometimes wrote non-fiction.
