The June 2011 issue of Realms of Fantasy, the magazine’s 100th, is now live on the web site, and should be along in subscribers mailboxes real soon now. As Editor Douglas Cohen hinted at when he released the table of contents, Fiction Editor Shawna McCarthy’s editorial announces a couple of changes in the way things are to be done. She writes “First off, we’re going to make the move to electronic submissions. Not just yet, mind you, so don’t start sending files until we announce it on the website and on our Facebook page. But it will be soon, we promise! Second, we’re adding poetry to the mix, starting with this issue. And we’re not starting small, either: Ursula K. Le Guin is our Founding Poet. (Again, put down those mice. Please hold off on submitting poetry till you’ve read our editorial requirements. Kthnx.)
“When we make the switch to electronic submissions, we will also post our poetry guidelines and begin accepting submissions in this department as well. Until then, any poetry submissions sent to us via email or snail mail will be discarded unread.”
She’s also asking readers for their opinions: what would they (you) like to see more or less of in the magazine. Pop over to the web site and let them know.
