Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 29 April-5 May 2011. New action sequel Fast Five sped to the top of the charts. Rio slipped from #1 to #2, flying away with $16.2 million, for a three-week total of $105.5 million. Prom opened at #5. Animated fairytale-update Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil opened at #6, kidnapping $4.5 million. Insidious held steady at #9, taking in $3.0 million, for a five-week total of $48.7 million. Source Code, too, held steady, at #10, arresting $2.9 million, for a five-week total of $49.3 million.
Hop tripped, falling from #4 to #11, finding $2.9 million, for a five-week total of $105.6 million. Hanna fell from #8 to #12, slaying $2.7 million, for a four-week total of #36.4 million. Scream 4 fell from #5 to #13, scaring up $2.6 million, for a three-week total of $35.9 million. Limitless fell from #12 to #16, earning $1.3 million, for a seven-week total of $76.3 million. Your Highness fell from #15 to #20, making $700 thousand, for a four-week total of $21.2 million. The Adjustment Bureau climbed from #25 to #23, arranging $550 thousand (50% more than last week), for a nine-week total of $61.8 million.
