Renovation issues Progress Report #4

Renovation, this year’s World Science Fiction Convention, is now sending out its fourth pre-convention Progress Report. Printed copies of PR#4 will be heading to members’ mailboxes early this month, and electronic copies of the 42-page pdf file are now is available for download from this page.
PR#4 includes the Hugo Award Final Ballot (see this article) and the 2013 Worldcon Site Selection Ballot (Texas in 2013, to be held 29 August-2 September in San Antonio, is the only formal bid). PR#4 also includes numerous articles about the convention program, events, and exhibits.
Some of the article cover Artist Guest of Honor Boris Vallejo; Planned Dance Events including the Girl Genius Ball; Other special events including the Masquerade, Music Night and Art Night; The Klingon Language Institute’s annual conference, which will take place in Reno immediately before Renovation; A Teaching SF workshop targeted at teachers, librarians and parents, which will be held on Wednesday, August 17; Renovation’s plans for Childcare and Handicapped Services; and Updates on the Renovation hotels and convention bus shuttle service.
When this PR went to press, there were 2,657 attending members registered (2,395 from the US, 104 from Canada) and another 387 supporting members (301 from the US).
Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention, will be held in Reno, Nevada, 17-21 August 2011.
