Jasper Kent sold world rights to two books to Simon Taylor at Transworld, in a deal negotiated by agent John Jarrold. The books covered by the deal are the fourth and fifth volumes of the Danilov Quintet of historical vampire novels.
The first book in the series, Kent’s debut novel Twelve, was published in January 2009. Book two, Thirteen Years Later, followed in March 2010, and The Third Section—set during the Crimean War—is scheduled to appear this August.
Taylor said of the deal “As his fast-growing band of UK and overseas fans will testify, Jasper has given us some fiendishly different vampires, and we’re thrilled we’re going to be seeing their story right through to the very end.”
