James Maxey sold his new Dragon Apocalypse trilogy to Jonathan Oliver at Solaris Books, in a deal (for a “nice five figure sum”) negotiated by agent John Berlyne. The books, Greatshadow, Hush, and Sorrow, will be published in February 2012, July 2012, and spring 2013, respectively.
The fantasy series, is “packed full of action, magic, memorable characters, and dragons,” according to Oliver. Berlyne says it’s “a complete riot… fantasy super heroes, terrifying dragons, and a deliciously unorthodox protagonist.… a high energy fusion of traditional fantasy colliding with X-Men.” Maxey says it’s “my most ambitious work to date, simultaneously an epic dragon hunt, a heist novel, a ghost story, and a love story; all blended with a bit of the comic-book inspired action I love.”
