George R.R. Martin reports that A Dance with Dragons, the fifth volume in his planned seven-volume “A Song of Fire and Ice”, is finally nearing publication. This page has a countdown-clock to the now official release date of 12 July 2011.
The series launched in 1996, and a television mini-series based on the first book, A Game of Thrones, is scheduled to debut on HBO on 17 April.
