Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention, has announced “the start of the process to select the host site for the 71st Worldcon, to be held in 2013. The only bid to have formally filed by the deadline of 18 February 2011, is the Texas in 2013 bid team, headed by Bill Parker as Bid Chair. The bid proposes to host the 2013 Worldcon in San Antonio, Texas, from 29 August to 2 September 2013.
“All Adult and Young Adult Attending and Supporting members of Renovation are eligible to take part in the site selection process. Ballots may be submitted by postal mail (in which case they must reach Renovation by 31 July) or in person at the convention, up to the close of voting at 6PM PDT on Friday, 19 August 2011. All ballots must be accompanied by an Advance Membership (Voting) fee of $60, which will automatically be converted to a Supporting membership in the 71st Worldcon.
“You can download the Site Selection ballot from the Renovation website at www.renovationsf.org/wsfs-site.php. A printed ballot will also be included in Renovation Progress Report 4, which will be published at the end of April.”
Renovation, the 69th World Science Fiction Convention, will be held in Reno, Nevada, 17-21 August 2011.
