Burbank, California’s Dark Delicacies announces “The Second Annual Women in Horror Month Celebration” on 12 February.
This year Dai Green and Reyna Young, in partnership with Dark Delicacies, will be hosting an event for Women in Horror Month, which was “founded last year by writer Hannah Neurotica (Ax Wound Magazine) as a way to get women in the horror industry together and celebrate our strides and existence in the industry.
“Female filmmakers, actresses, journalists, writers, special effects artists, and many others took this as an opportunity to get out there and celebrate the leaps and bounds that they their gender has made from just being seen as ‘the victims in a good horror film’ to the strong personalities that drive much of horror films today.
“The Amazing Line Up Of Women includes: Elissa Dowling (actress), Michelle Tomlinson (actress), Brooke Lewis (film maker and actress), Rachael Grubb (film maker and actress), Tara Cardinal (film maker and actress), Mo Whelan (writer and film maker), Eileen Dietz (actress), Dai Green (writer and actress), Reyna Young (film maker and actress), Victoria Del Mare (actress), Monique Parent (actress), Bastet2329 (owner of Creepy Gothic Dolls), and Melissa Krimsky (SFX artist; she’ll be providing a demonstration special effects techniques in the front window).”
Dark Delicacies will also be hosting a food drive to help refill the local food banks to help them recoup after the Holiday rush. People who bring in five (5) canned food or nonperishable food items will be entered into a special raffle to win some “very unique prizes.”
