Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 3-9 December 2010. There was a reversal at the top of the charts, although the dollar amounts in both cases plummeted. Tangled climbed from #2 to #1, spinning up $25.0 million, for a two-week total of $100.0 million. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I slipped from #1 to #2, taking in $20.6 million, for a three-week total of $248.1 million. Megamind fell from #4 to #6, making $5.7 million, for a five-week total of $137.4 million. The Warrior’s Way, the only new movie at the box offices this week, opened at #9, battling up $3.8 million.
Skyline slipped from #15 to #16, swooping up $550 thousand, for a four-week total of $21.1 million. Legend of the Guardians: Owls of Ga’Hoole, which fell out of the top 25 three weeks agao, this week popped back up onto the charts, at #21, swooping up $250 thousand, for an eleven-week total of $54.9 million. Despicable Me fell from #20 to #22, grossing $250 thousand, for a twenty-two-week total of $250.0 million.
