Following up on last year’s Sha’Daa: Tales of the Apocalypse, editor Edward F. McKeown writes with news of the sequel anthology.
“We are now releasing Sha’Daa: Last Call, featuring an introduction by Catherine Asaro, edited by Edward McKeown, from the concepts created by Mike Hanson. Set in the present day, it features twelve stories of mankind’s unexpected and deadly battle with the forces of Hell. The Sha’Daa begins with the initial small skirmishes as the enemy infiltrates our world through the quiet of suburban towns and farms to battles between the armed forces of Earth and monsters of ancient legends to a stand on the Moon. Through all the struggles, the one constant is the mysterious Johnny the Salesman, appearing in times of desperation with items that can help turn the tide. He is the slave and referee of the Sha’Daa, a being of immense power shackled to the Sha’Daa for ancient sins. His thumb is on the balance, but which way will he tip it?
“The book features two stories each by Edward McKeown and Mike Hanson, and works by Deb Koren, Arthur Sanchez, Bruce Durham, Jordan Lapp, James Wasserman, Anthony Truax, Sarah Wagner, and Paul Barret. Cover art and interior illustrations are by Johnney Perkins.”
The $16.95 trade paperback is currently for sale from ScienceFictionPaperbackBooks.com (which also has excerpts), and will soon be available from the major online retailers.
