Author Glenn Lewis Gillette Dies

The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) is reporting the death of long-time member and volunteer Glenn Lewis Gillette, on 1 November 2010, after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in 1946, he published a few stories in Analog in the early 1970s, and then took a twenty-year hiatus. He restarted his writing career in 1996, and made sales to many magazines and anthologies, including Apex, M-Brane, and Bard & Sages Quarterly.
For many years, Gillette edited SFWA’s electronic newsletter and the organization’s On-line Update, sending out information to the SFWA membership. He was also an active member of the Northern Colorado Writers Workshop.
Gillette graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1968, served in the Philippines and Alaska, and left for private industry in 1973. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, four children, and a grandson.
