McCarthy also played Bokonon in WGBH’s 1970s production, “Between Time and Timbuktu,” a brilliant adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s work. This legendary film, never made available on VHS or DVD, also included Bob and Ray as TV commentators speculating on the fate of poet Stony Stevenson, winner of a space jingle contest and blated into the chronosynclastic infindibulum as a reward. William Hickey played Stony.
