2. End of the World writing contest. “Submissions can be in any genre—from science fiction to steampunk to space westerns, high fantasy, you name it. The theme is the end of the world; however, what world is all up to you and your to interpret. Have fun with this. It can be Earth, Mars, Medieval England, or an alien civilization coming to an end. Stories should have some type of disaster or catastrophe occurring. Open to all walks of life and diversity.” They’re offering a $200 first prize for a $5 entry fee. Details are on this page. I’d feel a whole lot better about both the press and the contest if their website wasn’t so rife with spelling and grammar errors.
