Publisher Peter Crowther of PS Publishing announces they’re publishing Tomorrow Revisited: The Complete Frank Hampson Story. Hampson created the British 1950s’ comic and radio hero Dan Dare, and Crowther explains his personal connection with Dare in this post.
Crowther reminds readers that Alastair Crompton’s Hampson-bio The Man Who Drew Tomorrow appeared 25 years ago, but it had “more gaps in the story than was deemed ideal. And the complementary material was sparse⦠and where such material was included, it was in black and white.” Thus, this new volume aims to correct the earlier book’s shortcomings. For Tomorrow Revisited, Crowther says, “we’ve negotiated with Alastair Crompton (plus Hampson’s son, Peter, and Colin Frewin, President of the Dan Dare Corporation) to fill in those gaps, expand that original story and add in a veritable feast of supporting material, much of it never seen before, and all of it in full colour.”
Additionally, this book inaugurates PS’s new imprint, PS ArtBooks.
