Lawrence M. Schoen, chairman of the election committee, reminds members of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, that today is the last day to declare one’s candidacy for this year’s election for the organization’s Board of Directors.
At press time, only a couple of the races have more than one candidate. Currently declared candidates are:
President: John Scalzi
Vice President: Mary Robinette Kowal
Treasurer: Amy Sterling Casil and Eric Fullilove
Secretary: Isamu Fukui and Robert J. Howe
Canadian Regional Director: no candidates declared
Overseas Regional Director: Sean Williams
South/Central Regional Director: Lee Martindale and Diana Rowland
Current Secretary Kowal is running for Vice President. Current Treasurer Casil is the only officer seeking re-election.
Current President Russell Davis, Vice President Michael Capobianco, and S/C RD Paul Melko are not running for re-election. Eastern and Western Regional Directors Bud Sparhawk and Jim Fiscus are in the middle of three-year terms.
