My parents watch DOOL every day, without fail. They said today that Frances Reid has appeared on the show within the last year. According to my father, she’s not on often, but she does make appearances every so often. He thinks she was on the annual Christmas episode in December.

Are you sure she was in The Andromeda Strain? Actress Kate Reid, who played Leavitt, died in 1993.
Unless Frances Reid played a secondary character, you’re mistaken

That’s correct. Both Reids were in the film: Kate as Dr. Ruth Leavitt, and Frances as Clara Dutton.
