Kaleidotrope offering discounted subscriptions; will reopen for submissions

Fred Coppersmith, the editor of small-press magazine Kaleidotrope writes “2009 was a great year for our continually improving and eclectic little zine. We published two issues to favorable reviews—plus an honorable mention for Andrew Howard’s 2008 story “Molting” in Ellen Datlow’s Best Horror of the Year—and we’re very enthusiastic about the stories and poems we have on tap for 2010. Our next issue (#8) will be available in April of next year, and it promises to be an intriguing mix of fantasy and science fiction, with both returning favorites and new voices for readers to discover.
“With that in mind, a reminder that subscriptions to Kaleidotrope are currently half-price! That’s 50% off the already discounted subscription rates—meaning you get four issues for just $9 ($14 International). Support an independent zine and give a great gift for the holidays. Offer ends 31 December, so subscribe now and save!
“Also, in January, we will open up to new submissions again after a roughly nine-month hiatus. We’d love to hear from you then. Check out our submission guidelines for more information.”
Kaleidotrope is a twice-yearly print zine that “tends heavily towards the speculative—towards science fiction, fantasy, and horror—but we like an eclectic mix and are therefore always eager to read interesting work that falls outside those categories. Man does not live on space ships, elves and ghostly axe murderers alone, after all.”
