Random House hires Denise Cronin as VP of Sub Rights

Random House has hired Denise A. Cronin to be the Publishing Group’s new Vice President of Subsidiary Rights. Cronin is moving from the same position at Farrar, Straus & Giroux and Henry Holt, and will start at RHPG on 2 November. In the new position, she’ll oversee sub rights for all of the imprints, including Ballantine, Bantam Dell, Del Rey, Dial Press, Modern Library, Random House (aka Little Random), and Spiegel & Grau.
Cronin has been with Holt for more than 11 years, and before that she was Subsidiary Rights Director for Penguin and NAL/Dutton for nine years.
The sub rights position at RHPG has been vacant since late September, when Rebecca Gardner left to become the rights director of literary agent The Gernert Company
