Actress/model Mimi Weddell dies

Actress and model Mimi Weddell died 24 September 2009. Born Marion Rogers on 15 February 1915 in Williston, North Dakota, she began her acting and modeling career in 1981, following the death of her husband.
Her brief acting resume included genre appearances in: Last Rites (1980), Student Bodies (1981), The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), and Messengers (2004).
Weddell was known almost as much for her huge hat collection as for her public appearances (see this New York Times obituary). According to the Times, she “excelled, above all, at striking glamorous attitudes, waving her cigarette holder, and sporting one of the 150 or so hats she regarded less as a style statement than as a physical necessity, like oxygen.” She also appeared in print advertising.
She is survived by a daughter and a son, and two grandchildren.
