SFScope is taking the day off, because our ISP, Optimum Online, is apparently off-line. That means no internet connection, no telephones, and no television. A call to OO resulted in “we don’t know of any outages in the area, but we’ll try to get a technician out there sometime today.”
We’re sorry for the interruption of the news flow, but we’ll be back on Monday, either with a repaired Optimum Online connection, or with a new ISP. We hope you have a good weekend.
[Updated 14 September: Optimum Online got it fixed, so we’re back online.]
On his blog Tad Williams once complained about having no internet access, which still has me wondering–how did he post that message?
In our case, it was a trip to a local library with internet access. Not enough for a day’s worth of work, but enough to get a quick article published.
