Singer/actor Harve Presnell dies

Singer/actor Harve Presnell died 30 June 2009 from complications of pancreatic cancer. Born George Harvey Presnell on 14 September 1933 in Modesto, California, he was trained as an opera singer (studying voice at USC), and will be remembered for his stage and film role as Leadville Johnny Brown in The Unsinkable Molly Brown. He also played Daddy Warbucks in Annie nearly a thousand times on Broadway and on tour.
His film and television roles include playing Mr. Parker in 31 episodes of The Pretender (1997-2000) and Dr. Sam Lane in five episodes of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1995-97). His other genre roles include appearances in: Evan Almighty (2007), American Dad (2007), Charmed (2004), Escanaba in da Moonlight (2001), The Family Man (2000), The Outer Limits (1998), Face/Off (1997), The Guardian (1997), The Real Adventures of Johnny Quest (1996), Star Trek: Voyager (1996), and Blood Bath (1976). Presnell had basically retired from Hollywood when the Coen Brothers cast him as Wade Gustafson in Fargo (1996), which brought him a second career in film and tv.
His first marriage ended in divorce in 1966. His is survived by his second wife, Veeva Suzanne Hamblen, whom he married in May 1966, as well as six children and several grandchildren.
