Del Rey Books has announced a deal with Quirk Books for the former to publish the graphic novel adaptation of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, the unexpected mash-up bestseller by Seth Grahame-Smith> working from Jane Austen’s original. The deal was negotiated by Mutzumi Miyazaki (Del Rey’s Director of Licensing and Acquisitions) with Marsha Armitage-Bristow (Dimensional Branding Group’s Executive Vice President of Licensing) and Jessica Schmidt (Quirk’s Director of Sales).
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Graphic Novel will be a 160-page adaptation by Tony Lee with art by Cliff Richards, and should be published in March 2010.
Lee is a veteran comics writer who has worked on X-Men, Spider-Man, Doctor Who, and other comics series. Richards has worked on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer comics series, as well as Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman.
