Comic series Vincent Price Presents to be trade paperback collection

Last Halloween, Bluewater Productions debuted their monthly comic entitled Vincent Price Presents. Each month’s issue told a different story, and the response was so great that they’ve decided to collect them into a trade paperback collection. The first volume is scheduled to be released 30 September, and will include four issues from the series, along with an introduction by film legend Roger Corman.
“These stories showcase some of the best of the comic horror genre,” said Darren Davis, Bluewater’s president. “Our writers, artists, and colorists have combined talent to create some truly innovative and bizarre landscapes for a new generation of Vincent Price devotees and fans of strong genre storytelling.”
According to Bluewater, the stories include horrific transformations, twisting plots, perversions of science, labyrinthine castles, Gothic dread, surreal revelations, and a little unexpected genre-bending. In each tale, Vincent Price serves as the iconic host and muse.
“We anticipate several more macabre collections in the near future,” Davis said. “The series continues to be one of our highest selling and best reviewed titles. And we are planning to incorporate some of his more famous movie roles in future issues.”
Bluewater’s partnership with the Price estate (controlled by his daughter Victoria) is also planning a celebration of Price’s 100th birthday in 2011.
