Pinchbottom to present science fiction-themed burlesque

New York City’s burlesque show “Pinchbottom” is planning its second science-fiction themed show for May 2009. The “couple-friendly risque event” is entitled “The Morning After”, and is described as “post-apocalyptic burlesque.”
We received the following description of “The Morning After”:
Incoming—Final Transmission from Earth… it is The Morning After the apocalypse. A small band of burlesque performers, under the leadership of Nasty Canasta, has survived… but “Protector” Jonny Porkpie’s provisional government has banned all forms of nakedness and forced us to become outcasts in a world we never made… we are attempting to rebuild society the only way we can: by taking off our clothes… if anyone out there still believes in the principles of truth, justice, and striptease, find us… find us now… the future nudity of humanity is at stake… find zzzzzzzzxqz… Message Interrupted
Don’t you hate when you wake up after a night of debauchery and your head feels like the end of the world? This time, it actually is.

The show stars Nasty Canasta & Jonny Porkpie, and features Anita Cookie, Bastard Keith, Kobayashi Maru, Leroi the Girl Boi, Madame Rosebud, Ms Tickle, Naughtia Nice, Scott Rayow, and Tigger! in an all-new scripted theatrical Pinchbottom event on Saturday 16 May at 10:30PM at The Bleecker Street Theater.
Pinchbottom’s first science fiction-themed show was “Naked Planet”, which ran at least four times last year. Pinchbottom produces a scripted a theatrical burlesque show every month Off-Broadway in New York City. Tickets are $20 online at this link or by phone at 212-352-3101.
