ChiZine Publications’ short story contest for tales set in Filaria

ChiZine Publications is sponsoring a short story contest based in Brent Hayward’s world of Filaria. Hayward and ChiZine editor Brett Alexander Savory are the judges, and the deadline for the contest has been exteded to 28 February 2009.
All stories must “be firmly set in the world of Filaria. A story in some underground city isn’t good enough. That said, it can take place during the events of the book, just before, a thousand years later, whatever.” Stories must be 1000 words or shorter.
First, second, and third prize winners will appear in the April-June issue of ChiZine. First prize will also be paid 25 cents per word. Second and third places will win ChiZine Publications books.
