Variety reports the top movies, in terms of box office take, for the week of 28 November-4 December 2008. New comedy release Four Christmases grossed $37.7 million, just edging out last week’s #1, Twilight, which took in $32.0 million, for a two-week total of $125.4 million. Quantum of Solace dropped from #2 to #4, earning another $22.3 million, for a three-tweek total of $144.9 million.
The Dark Knight climbed this week, from #21 to #19, grossing another $450 thousand, for a twenty-week total of $530.4 million.
Saw V dropped out of the top 25, a precipitous drop from last week’s #18, in its sixth week in release. The Haunting of Molly Hartley also fell off the top of the charts, from last week’s #22, in its fifth week in the theatres.
